Our tagline's "double" meaning is just so inspired, so real

The Lord gave my mother the tagline for our brand, and at first, I didn’t get it... or like it. Something about it sounded sassy, and she sounded sassy saying it. Later, she would explain to me that she wasn’t being sassy; she was just frustrated that I’d come up with so many options for us to consider, and she couldn’t think of a single thing. Almost giving up, she just said, “Well, how about ‘cheer up your bottom?'” However, she admits that when it came to her, it was so funny she almost didn't share it but felt she needed to come up with at least one idea.
I added her suggestion, reluctantly, to my list and quickly got off the phone with her (Lord, she’s always doing too much… cheer up your bottoms! What?). I read through all the tagline ideas on the list, and when I landed on her suggestion, it struck me that the phrase has a double meaning.
Inspiring women
The word “cheer” comes from “chiere,” which means, roughly, “the continence of one’s face.” Cheer as a word evolved over the years to mean “facial expression, mood, or happiness.”
And as a business and life coach, inspiring women is what I do almost on autopilot. My impulse is to encourage and speak life into us! Speaking life often mainly involves a kind word here and there, or at other times, when it’s business, it requires deep conversations and planning around a goal, which hopefully leads to a desired outcome… something that will bring clarity, courage, happiness, or cheer to inspire a woman to keep going.
Elevating the look of leggings
As “cheer” relates to our Skhert brand… It’s about elevating the look of leggings to give women who wear them frequently more styling options and thus a more cheerful finish to their attire.
I’m in that category of woman who frequently wears leggings. I work from home and play tennis as much as possible, and leggings are my go-to choice on most days. They’re easy to wear when I’m feeling unstoppable and on those tiresome mornings when I can barely get out of bed to get my day started. I don’t fight with leggings, and they don’t fight with me. And when I’ve got my act together, they’re ready to roll with me. That makes me cheerful!
So, yes, "Cheer up your bottoms!" Our plan is that you’ll see our tagline a lot, expressing multiple ideas about Skhert as a brand and motivating women. The women we've been able to share it with so far love it and we hope you will too.
